Why we're here

Websites are ugly, over-complicated and difficult to find your way around. Website design is often pretty miserable.  The text is too small, the layout is cluttered, little attention is paid to the writing, grammar and spelling are poor, the colours clash, the navigation is unclear, and it's all squashed into a narrow column down the centre of the screen with wasted space at the sides. We could go on. But you get the picture. Of course, it doesn’t apply to all website design – but it applies to most of it.

The trouble is that websites are either built by techie programming geeks obsessed with what a website does, but don’t care much what it looks like, or they’ve been squeezed into a one-size-fits-all, pre-formed template.

Why we're different

So that’s what makes us different. We are a small, new website design company based in Hastings, East Sussex, UK, making bespoke websites. Our designs aren't like other designs. Our sites are custom designed, made to look good – the way you want your website to look. Our service is aimed at small businesses, community groups, writers, artists, public figures, anyone who wants a technically simple website that’s attractive, interesting, and easy to navigate. To achieve this, we stick to a few simple principles:

• We don’t use templates – all our websites are built from scratch;
• Our web pages fill the screen, whatever its size;
• We employ the basic design principles of unity, balance, scale, and contrast in design;
• We make sure that all text is clear, big enough to read, correctly spelt (UK English or US English) and grammatically correct;
• We keep the size and complexity of websites to a minimum.
